Uraltrubprom produces the following types of longitudinal electric-welded pipes:

Round pipes with diameter from 114 to 630 mm and wall thickness from 3 to 22 mm.


Square pipes with sizes from 80х80 to 500х500 mm and wall thickness from 3 to 22 mm.


Rectangular pipes with sizes from 100х50 to 500х400 mm and wall thickness from 3 to 22 mm.


Casing pipes with diameter of 146,05 — 323,85 mm and wall thickness from 5,87 to 16,5 mm.


Piles with diameter of 114-630 mm and wall thickness from 6 to 22 mm length - 6-24 m.

 

Modern welding methods provide the weld strength as high as that of base metal. This makes it possible to use welded pipes in areas where only seamless pipes were earlier used.


Electric-welded round pipes produced by Uraltrubprom are applied:

  • as main pipelines for long-distance transfers of gas, water, oil, etc
  • as casing pipes
  • in metal structures of buildings and constructions of various purpose
  • in mechanical engineering
  • in agriculture
  • in civil building for supply lines (water, gas)
  • in shipbuilding
  • in atomic power engineering
  • as piles

In Russia, it was possible to produce certain pipe kinds, e.g. thick-walled ones, only as seamless pipes till 2009. Uraltrubprom was the first plant in Russia which has introduced technology for producing thick-walled welded pipes made of coiled steel. Welded pipes with wall thickness up to 22 mm are an excellent analogue of seamless pipes both by quality and price. Thanks to significant advancements in the field of welding, welded pipes do not yield seamless pipes in respect of durability.

By this technology electric-welded steel pipes are produced only from coiled steel by high-frequency currents induction welding (type 1).


Advantages of this technology:

  • a thinner wall with minimal deviations by thickness compared to seamless pipe. For example, 530 pipe can be manufactured with 5 mm wall.
  • thick-walled welded pipes. Uraltrubprom produces 530, 630 mm ERW pipes from coiled steel with wall thickness up to 22 mm! This is an excellent alternative to seamless pipes and pipes welded from a steel sheet, first of all in respect of price. Our pipes are 10% cheaper on the average.

Besides, Uraltrubprom produces longitudinal electric-welded pipes with additional requirements according to TU:

  • TU 1303-002-12281190. Longitudinal electric-welded pipes for main gas and oil pipelines and field pipelines with operating pressure of up to 9.8 MPa. This TU is developed according to requirements of CTO Gazprom 2-4.1-713 (PJSC "Gazprom")
  • TU 1303-003-12281990. Longitudinal electric-welded pipes for oil pipelines. This TU is developed according to requirements of ОТТ-23.040.00-КТН-050-11 PJSC "Transneft".
  • TU 1303-005-12281990. Steel pipes with round section for field pipelines featuring enhanced operational reliability. Pipes for construction and repair of field pipelines of PJSC “Rosneft”.
  • TU 1303-006.3-593377520. For construction of field pipelines transporting oil and oil products, as well as fresh and service water with operating pressure of up to 7.4 MPa in the conditions of corrosive media and at ambient temperature from -60° C to +40° C.
  • TU 143P-1471. For arrangement of oil and gas deposits, main gas, oil, and oil product pipelines and field pipelines.
  • TU 1303-004-12281990. Steel bent closed welded sections for framework elements of containers and tanks. Operating temperature in the range from -40° C to +50° C.

Uraltrubprom is the only one plant producing electric-welded pipes of square and rectangular section from 400х200 mm to 500х400 mm and 400х400 to 500х500 mm with wall thickness from 6 to 22 mm. Large sections have been produced since 2009, when a new line (of Japanese brand) for producing electrically welded pipes was launched. Thick-walled sections of large sizes are delivered across Russia, CIS, and EU countries.


We produce over 100 pipe sizes every month. Our equipment enables quick introduction of new standard sizes, which ensures prompt execution of orders.

According to TU and GOST standards, Uraltrubprom applies the following quality inspection methods for longitudinal electric-welded pipes:


  • 100% Non-destructive inspection of weld
  • 100% Ultrasonic inspection of weld along the entire length
  • Non-destructive inspection of the basic metal and pipe ends
  • Bending impact test of the basic metal (KCU-40°C; KCU-5°C, acc. to customer's request) for GOST 20295
  • Static bend testing of weld
  • Tensile testing of the basic metal (A and B groups) and E group as agreed (GOST 33228).
  • Hardness test of the basic metal and weld.
  • Flattening test
  • 100% Testing with hydraulic pressure
  • Chemical composition of rolled steel
  • Metallographic estimation of nonmetallic inclusions in weld
  • Research of the weld structure
  • Estimation of resistance to sulphide corrosion cracking under load (A and D methods) of the basic metal and weld.
  • Estimation of resistance to hydrogen cracking of the basic metal and weld.

Three pipe production lines are installed at the plant.

— ERW mill line «630» was commissioned in 2009.
Technologies from leading Japanese machine-building corporations.
36 world patents for equipment.
Unique technology of ERW pipe production of coiled steel in Russia.
Round-, rectangular- and square-section pipes are produced on this mill line.


— ERW mill line «102-377» produced in Germany.
Equipment was purchased in 1990 and was commissioned in 1992-1993.
The mill line was modernized in 2008-2009.
Round-, rectangular- and square-section pipes are produced on this mill line.


— Casing pipes production equipment.
Commissioned in 2014.
